Nudity, handcuffing, M/M and F/F foreplay right before your eyes, but truly explicit fornicating is delicately glossed over.
Irene Adler, author of the classic "Absurdly Simple", has finally taken up her H/W pen again to write a sequel, much to the delight of her fans! When she challenged members of the Holmesslash list to come up with a f/f slash that involved intelligent women from the canon, no one answered the challenge, so Ms. Adler herself took it on. As the story title implies, this work incorporates Oscar Wilde's play An Ideal Husband, but I'll let Ms. Adler fill you in on the details regarding that play.
Also of note--although this story involves Irene Norton neé Adler of the canonical story "A Scandal in Bohemia", Ms. Adler the author is NOT writing a Mary Sue with herself envisioned as the remarkable heroine Irene. No indeed, Irene the character and Irene the author are two distinct entities, as are An Ideal Husband--Wilde's play, and "An Ideal Husband"--the slashy sequel to "Absurdly Simple". I must say that Ms. Adler has captured Irene's canonical character very well, just as she captures Violet Hunter (the chestnut-haired governess from the story "The Copper Beeches").
To quote Ms. Adler: "Well, nobody else took up my challenge, so I'm taking it up myself. This will have a f/f plot as well as the traditional H/W.... This story takes place a few months after the end of Absurdly Simple."
With the author's permission, this story has now been translated into Chinese by newsherlock. Enjoy!
Also with permission, Nitocriss has translated it into Russian as well.
Normally the story text would go here. However, since "An Ideal Husband" is a multi-parter, the parts are on separate HTML pages that are linked to this index, and to each other:
Now there's a guestbook from which I will copy the comments on the slash fiction. Sample comments would look like this:
